“What if they kill you?” the little boy asked, sobbing over his parent’s uniform, stroking the badge.
“I’ll be okay,” was the response full of fear, knowing that the average number of cops killed in one year happened over just one night.
“What if they kill you?” the little boy asked, sobbing into his hands, holding his sibling’s shirt.
“I don’t know,” was the response full of sadness, knowing that the average number of people of color killed in one day was high enough of a risk.
